Vision

To create a vibrant community that emphasizes enrichment, excellence, and fellowship as we evangelize our area in love and power to the Glory of God through Jesus Christ, by the aid of the Holy Spirit.

Mission

The Olive Branch Church mission is to offer Christ, save souls and develop individual spiritual maturity. We accomplish our purpose through Spirit-inspired worship, Christ-centered service, and biblically-based education. The fruit of our mission will be the ever-growing display of God’s love, power and presence in the lives of our members.

Leadership Structure

The leadership structure at Olive Branch has evolved over the years into a unique and very effective form of governance. Our Senior Pastor is the primary leader and visionary.  The Board of Directors serves as the governing body of the Church and is responsible for the strategic planning and long range objectives. The directors are responsible for policy decisions that reflect a clear biblical perspective and the best interest of the Church.

Another great branch of leadership and servanthood is the Deacon’s Ministry. The deacons assist the Senior Pastor in serving the needs of the members of the Church. The role of a deacon is a position that exemplifies a true spirit of servanthood since Jesus said, “most assuredly, I say to you he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also: and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” Our deacons lead by example within the church and assist in meeting the spiritual, physical, material, and temporal needs of the members.

History

Founding:
For over one hundred thirty years, Olive Branch Church has made an impression on the Antioch, Tennessee community. The vision for the church was brought to fruition in 1875 when its first Pastor, Parson Whitsitt, and the Turner, Paskett, Battle, Burk, Thompson, Britton, People, Allen, King, Wilson, Guthrie, Sanders, Winsted, Gooch, Mingle, Flye, Boyd, Wray, Porter, Gray, Harding and Covington families founded it.

These families were able to accomplish the vision set before them by praying, working together, and a faith that couldn’t be moved. That same spirit and hard work has allowed Olive Branch to serve as a refuge for people looking for a safe haven. What they find at Olive Branch is so much more; they find family.

Leadership History:
Olive Branch Church has always had a progressive committed leadership. In addition to the church’s first pastor, Parson Whitsitt, Olive Branch Church has been blessed by strong and long-tenured pastors such as Reverends  J.L Webb (27 years), and C.L Dowdy (17 years). In the early 1970’s, Reverend Joe Dillard became the 11th pastor and served faithfully for 27 years. The membership experienced great growth under Reverend Dillard’s leadership and many of the lessons that he taught still ring true. In 1999, Reverend Dillard passed the baton to Vincent L. Windrow who became the 12th pastor of Olive Branch Church.

Facilities:
In 2001 the Church completed an expansion project which cost over $1.2 million dollars and took two years to complete due to excavation challenges. In addition to the original church grounds, the Church also owns 25 acres.

On February 5th 2006, Olive Branch established a second church location in Murfreesboro, Tennessee (approximately 27 miles from the Antioch site).  Later that year, the church purchased a facility on historic Main Street in downtown Murfreesboro.  After rapidly outgrowing that building, the Main Street location was sold and a larger facility on John Bragg Highway was purchased.

Presently Olive Branch Church has four Sunday Worship Services divided between the two locations. In addition to the Sunday services, there is a “Monday Morning Motivational Moment” prayer call led by the Senior Pastor, as well as mid-week bible study at both locations. Also, there are more than 37 ministries, that includes a thriving youth division, small group ministries, a robust outreach ministry and numerous other opportunities for members and friends of all ages to grow and serve.

Olive Branch Today:
Olive Branch continues to be a blessing to others through various local and international outreach initiatives.  Each initiative falls under three focal areas of concern in our community: Illiteracy, Hunger, and Poverty.  The Antioch location currently participates in 16 different projects aimed at combating each of these issues, and Murfreesboro currently participates in 18.

At Olive Branch Church members are constantly shown and told that they are valuable; their minds are valuable; their bodies are valuable; and their dreams are valuable.  Although there is much work to be done in the vineyard, our aim and church focus is to reflect the love and grace of God; connect all to the body of Christ; and Commission the saved to win souls.
